A workshop titled Women Empowerment and Technopreneurship Health, Hygiene and Environment was organized by ACIC, IIT (ISM) FOUNDATION, DHANBAD and ICAR- NINFET, KOLKATA in collaboration with FULCRUM a Kolkata based company, at Nari O Sishu Kalyan Kendra on March 7, 2022. The main focus of the Workshop was empowerment of women through livelihood generation on the basis of environment-friendly technology. The main focus would be implementation of GREEN TECHNOLOGY through women. FULCRUM discussed the steps and challenges of converting a pilot initiative into a viable commercial initiative and what would be areas of support that will be necessary from both the esteemed organizations.
The objective of the event was economic empowerment of women through skill development training (tomato sauce, jam and pickle making). ACIC IIT (ISM) Foundation has planned to conduct a series of such skill development training programs for women in future. The trained women participants have now started preparing the tomato sauce from their homes, and the Foundation is ready to provide whole-hearted support to them (Funding, Marketing and Mentorship).
The objective of the event was to provide the necessary materials (ironwares, mixer grinder, gas stove) required to make Tomato Ketchup, so that, the underprivileged women can initially start their business from home. The women have now started their business from home, and the foundation is looking forward to it.
