About the Chief Vigilance Officer:

Dr. Chandan Guria is a Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. He is currently serving as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Institute. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, with a specialization in multi-objective optimization of mineral processing circuits. His academic and research interests include CO₂ sequestration, biomass and bioenergy, fluid flow through porous media, and membrane separation processes. Dr. Guria brings with him 27 years of teaching experience and over 33 years of combined industrial and research experience. His current research is primarily focused on deep beneficiation of high-ash coal, sustainable utilization of high-ash coal, and co-pyrolysis of high-ash coal with rice straw. He has published 92 research papers in reputed international peer-reviewed journals and has successfully guided 11 Ph.D. scholars. In addition to his academic and research contributions, he has held several key administrative positions at the Institute, including Associate Dean (Administration) and Hostel Warden, among others.

डॉ. चंदन गुड़िया भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (भारतीय खनि विद्यापीठ) धनबाद के पेट्रोलियम अभियांत्रिकी विभाग में प्राध्यापक के पद पर हैं। वह वर्तमान में संस्थान के मुख्य सतर्कता अधिकारी (सीवीओ) के पद पर भी हैं। उन्होंने आई.आई.टी. कानपुर से रसायन अभियांत्रिकी में Ph.D. की डिग्री हासिल की है जिसमें मिनरल प्रोसेसिंग सर्किट के मल्टी-ऑब्जेक्टिव ऑप्टिमाइजेशन में स्पेशलाइजेशन है। उनकी शैक्षणिक और अनुसंधान रुचियों में CO₂ सीक्वेस्ट्रेशन, बायोमास और बायोएनर्जी, पोरस मीडिया के माध्यम से फ्लूइड फ्लो, और मेम्ब्रेन सेपरेशन प्रोसेस शामिल हैं। डॉ. गुरिया के पास 27 वर्षों का शैक्षणिक अनुभव है और 33 से अधिक वर्षों का औद्योगिक और अनुसंधान का मिला-जुला अनुभव है। उनका मौजूदा अनुसंधान मुख्य रूप से हाई-ऐश कोयले के डीप बेनिफिशिएशन, हाई-ऐश कोयले के सस्टेनेबल इस्तेमाल, और चावल के पुआल के साथ हाई-ऐश कोयले के को-पायरोलाइसिस पर केंद्रित है। उन्होंने प्रतिष्ठित अंतरराष्ट्रीय पीयर-रिव्यूड जर्नल्स में 92 शोध पत्र प्रकाशित किए हैं और 11 Ph.D. स्कॉलर्स का सफलतापूर्वक मार्गदर्शन किया है। अपने शैक्षणिक और अनुसंधान में योगदान के अलावा उन्होंने इंस्टीट्यूट में कई प्रमुख प्रशासनिक पदों पर भी काम किया है जिनमें सह अधिष्ठाता (प्रशासन) और छात्रावास वार्डन शामिल है।
