★ About the Event

About the Summer School

The IEEE PELS Sponsored Ph.D. Summer School 2026 is a five-day intensive programme on Power Converter Design, Digital Control, and Battery Management Systems, hosted by the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, as part of the institute's Centenary Celebrations. The event brings together distinguished guest lecturers, researchers, and Ph.D. scholars from across India and abroad.

There will be a series of invited lectures by renowned speakers on hardware and software design of power converters, digital control techniques, and modern battery management systems. In addition, there will be hands-on sessions on schematic and layout design of modern driver circuits, converter prototype testing, and reliable feedback & signal-conditioning circuits for closed-loop control.

A distinctive feature is the Research Scholar Presentation Sessions, where selected Ph.D. scholars in their 3rd or 4th year present their work for 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A. Outstanding scholars (including women researchers via IEEE WiE) will be honoured with a cash prize and citation.
