2019-2020+

DHANBAD DISTRICT LEAGUE
Our IIT(ISM) teams in Boxing (M), Basketball (M), Volleyball (M), Football, Karate (M&W), Wt. Lifting (M), Body building/Power lifting (M&W), Athletics (M&W) had participated in the Dhanbad district league during the session 2019-20.
Our Karate team comprising of 1no. Student Mr. Ravi Ranjan Kumar Adm No.-18je0673 with Karate Coach had represented Dhanbad District in Jharkhand Sub Junior & Senior Karate Championship 2019 held at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon Ranchi on 25th and 26th of May, 2019 and won bronze medal in - 84kg weight category of kumite event.
Our Power Lifting team comprising of 2 students (boys) with Gym Trainer had participated in the 1st All India Power Lifting Championship Men & Women – Affiliated by UIPSL Power Lifting India/International held at Gurgoan (Haryana) from 20-21 July 2019.
Our Boxing team comprising of 2 students (boys) with Boxing Coach had participated in the Students Olympic Youth Games 2019 organised by Students Olympic Association, India, held at Lovely Professional University Punjab from 8-10 June 2019. In which near about 100 participants in 10 Weight categories from all over India had participated in the said event. The results are as bellow:

IIT (ISM) contingent comprising of 14 participants and Swimming Coach had participated in 35th Inter IIT Aquatics meet - 2019 organized by IIT Kharagpur from 28th September to 03rd October 2019. In which eight students (6 boys & 1 girl) were selected for Swimming and others selected for Water Polo including six swimming boys also.
IIT(ISM) contingent comprising of 118 participants and 09 nos. coaches in the games of Cricket, Football, Basketball (M&W), Athletics(M&W), Tennis(M&W), Wt. Lifting, Hockey & Chess participated in 54th Inter IIT Sports meet held during 14 - 22 Dec. 2019 at IIT Kharagpur. In which our student Mr. Manoj Kumar B.Tech 3rd Year/CSE has won Silver Medal and Mr. Prashant Kaushik, B.Tech 3rd year /Mech. Engg. has won Bronze Medal in Wt. Lifting. Our Football team had secured 3rd position. In other games like Basketball (M&W), Tennis, had qualified for the quarter final and in the overall tally IIT(ISM) was ranked 9th position.
IIT(ISM) contingent comprising of 46 participants and 04 nos. coaches in the games of Volleyball (M&W), Squash (M&W), Badminton (M&W) & Table Tennis (M&W) participated in 54th Inter IIT Sports meet held during 14 - 22 Dec. 2019 at IIT Bhubaneswar. In which Volleyball Team (M) Badminton team (M) & Table Tennis (M&W) had qualified for the quarter final.
IIT(ISM) contingent has also secured 1st position in March-past in both the venue.
IIT(ISM) Staff team comprising of 52 participants in the games of Cricket, Athletics(M&W), Badminton, Football, Volleyball, Tennis participated in 26th Inter IIT Staffs Sports meet held during 24 - 28 Dec.2019 at IIT Kharagpur.

Our Karate team comprising of 6nos. student (boys) & 04nos. students (girls) with Karate Coach had participated in 8th Dhanbad District Karate Championship held at Swami Sahjanand Community Centre, Dhanbad on 19th & 20th Oct. 2019. The team performed well and our players won 10 medals in their respective weight categories. Details are as mentioned below.

11 members IIT (ISM) karate team participated in the 6th All India Bushikan Shoto Karate Championship and brought laurels for the institution by winning total 10 medals including 2 Gold in the different weight categories of the aforesaid championship. Our 05 member Body building team had participated in 1st UIPSL Jharkhand Powerlifting Championship (state wide competition) organized by United Intercontinental Powerlifting Sports League at Rashtriya Powerlifting Manch at Katras, Dhanbad from 31 Aug- 01 Sep, 2019 and brought laurels for the institution by winning total 6 medals.

Our students Vinuthna Jaladi, MBA had participated in Open Koylanchal classical bodybuilding championship conducted in Mahuda on 10 November 2019 and won GOLD MEDAL (Miss Koylanchal) - Open Category women's physique.
Our students Vinuthna Jaladi, MBA had participated in 67th National Fitness and Bodybuilding Championships 2019 organized by Indian fitness and body builders federation at Bangalore on December 28th and 29th 2019 and won GOLD MEDAL and Title Winner (Miss Bharath Physique 2019) - Open Category women's physique/Fitness and also represented Jharkhand state.
Our student Mr. Shivam Tyagi had participated in Senior Men Jharkhand States in boxing game held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand from 19 to 24 September 2019 and won silver medal.

Our 09 member Boxing Team with Boxing Coach had participated in Sports Fest Spardha- 2019 held at IIT (BHU) from 18-20 October 2019 and won medals in different category. The details are as follows.

Our 16 member Hockey Team with Hockey Coach had participated in Sports Fest Spardha- 2019 held at IIT (BHU) from 18-20 October 2019 in which our hockey team qualified for quarter final.

In which our student Ms. Arti Kumari, B.Tech 2nd year /ECE has won Gold Medal in three events (400M, 800M,1500 M) and has been adjudged as best women Athlete. In other games like Basketball (M&W), Volleyball (M), Tennis, Badminton, and Table Tennis had qualified for the quarter final and in the overall tally IIT(ISM) was ranked 9th position. Our Body Building team comprising of 5 students (men) with Gym trainer had participated in Mr. Dhanbad Body Building & Men’s Physique Championship 2018 held at Karkend, Dhanbad organized by Dhanbad District Body Builders Association on 2nd Dec. 2018 in which our student Mr. AakashNirmalsecured Gold medal in 75kg, Mr. SabyasachiParida secured Silver medal in 70kg and Mr. Shakti Kanta Behera secured Bronze medal in 70kg category.

Student (men) with Gym trainer had participated in Mr. India body building championship 2018 held at GhantaGhar, Ramleela Ground, Ghaziabad Organised by Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Body Building Association, U.P. on 15thDec. 2018 in which our student Mr. Souradip Ghosh (17MT001770) secured 10th position in 75kg category.
Our Boxing team comprising of 1no. Student (men) had participated in 12th Jharkhand Senior State Boxing Championship Organised by TATA STEEL, Naomundi, Jhankhand Boxing Association from 26-30 December 2018 in which Shri. Shivam Tyagi, B.Tech 3rd Year secured Bronze Medal in 69-75 Kgs category.
Our Body building team comprising 4 students (men) with Gym Trainer has participated in Senior Mr. Jharkhand Raghunandan Mandal Memorial Cup Body Building Championship 2019 held at Godda, Jharkhand organised by District Body Builders Association Godda from 5 – 6 Jan. 2019, in which our student Mr. Aakash Nirmal won Bronze medal in Men’s Physique category.

2017-2018+

Our Body Building team comprising of 9 students (men) with Gym trainer had participated in Jr. & Sr. Mr. Jharkhand State Body Building Championship 2016 -2017 held at Deoghar organized by Jharkhand Body Building & Fitness Association on 2nd April 2017. Our student Shri Khemchand Joya won the title of Mr. Jr. Jharkhand in the said state body building championship.
IIT(ISM) Aquatic team comprising of 19 participants (M&W) and 03 nos. officials participated in Inter IIT Aquatic meet held during 1 - 4 October 2017 at IIT Madras.
IIT(ISM) contingent comprising of 125 participants and 06 nos. officials in the games of Cricket, Football, Basketball(M&W), Volleyball(M&W), Athletics(M&W),Table Tennis(M&W), Tennis, Badminton(M&W), Squash(M&W) & Chess participated in 52nd Inter IIT Sports meet held during 15-23 Dec.2017 at IIT Madras. Shri. Ashutosh Kujur, B.Tech final year has won Bronze Medal in the Long Jump event.

On 18th Sept. 2016 Katras Power Lifting Association conducted the Open District Bench Press Competition for Men & Women. In which our students Ms Preeti Saikia, M.Tech 2nd Yr. from ESE Dept. won Gold Medal in women section and Mr. Fawad Ilam, BE won Gold Medal in the men section.
Our students Shri Ravi Kr Yadav, Shri Gagandeep Bhattacharya, Shri Anupam Nirmal, Shri ChetanYadav and Shri Abhishek Shinde had been selected to represent Dhanbad District Basketball team for 16th Jharkhand State Senior Basketball Championship held at Noamundi, Pashchimi Singhbhum, Jharkhand from 11 to 13 Nov. 2016.

2015-2016+

ISM contingent comprising of 89 participants (only male) and 03 nos. officials in the game of Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics, Handball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash & Chess participated in Spardha Sports Festival, IIT BHU held during 30th Oct. to 1st Nov. 2015.
Our Basketball Team (M) comprising of students (13 nos.) and officials (2 nos.) took part in East Zone Inter University Basketball (M) tournament 2015-16 organised by KIIT University, Bhubaneswar from 25-28 Dec. 2015.
ISM Cricket Team comprising of students (16 nos.) players and officials (02 nos.) took part in East-Zone Inter-University Cricket (M) Tournament 2015-16, organised by L. N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar from 17-30 Dec. 2015.
Shri Khemchand Joya, B. Tech. student of Electronic & Instrumentation Engineering participated in MR. INDIA 2016 held at Bengaluru (Manglore) on 12th & 13th Feb. 2016 and had secured the 6th position. He also participated in East India Body Building Championship and won Gold Medal and also participated in Jr. Mr. India Championship and secured 8th position.
Shri Pawan Kumar, B. Tech student of Computer Science Engineering, won Silver medal in 9th Jharkhand State Boxing Championship held at Deoghar, Jharkhand.

2014-2015+

Body Builders Mr. G. Rajesh, M. Tech Final Yr. and Mr. Khemchand Joya, B. Tech. 2nd Yr. have secured the 3rd and 4th position respectively in Senior Mr. Jharkhand Body Building Championship - 2015 held at Jamshedpur on 14th Feb’2015.
Shri V. Murahari, B. Tech., CSE had been selected to represent Indian Universities Athletics team (combined universities) for 54th Sr. National Open Athletics Championship held at J. N. Stadium, New Delhi from 2nd to 5th Nov. 2014.He was one of the 4 athletes and only one male athlete among the hundreds of Indian Universities achieved the qualifying standard specified by Athletic Federation of India.
Our Athletic Team (M) took part in All India Inter University Athletic Championship, 2014-15 held at Mangalore (Karnataka) organised by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science 16- 20 January 2015.
A 117 member contingent comprising of students and 02 nos. officials had gone to IIT Roorkee on 17.03.2015 to participate in Sangram Sports Festival which was held at IIT Roorkee from 20th March to 22nd March 2015.
Our Basketball Team (M) comprising of students (13 nos.) and officials (2 nos.) took part in East Zone Inter University Basketball (M) tournament 2014-15 organise by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi from 13th Dec. to 17th Dec. 2014.
Institute Cricket Team had participated in Dhanbad District Cricket Leagues where they won the championship.
