Organization of 7th International Day of Yoga 2021

7th International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21/06/2021 at the Yoga Centre of the Institute from 7 am onwards. The event was organized in virtual mode through Zoom& also it was live on YouTube where few of the members of the institute attended the program in physical mode at the venue. Whereas as most of the participants around 700 were in virtual mode throughout the country which includes students, faculties/staff, and their families.

As a run up activity of the IDY 2021, online yoga classes were being carried out by the institute since 1st June 2021.
Swimming Classes

A trial run swimming activity had been organised from 22nd March to 28th March 2022 after a long gap of 2 years approx. for Covid-19 pandemic.
After the completion of trial run, regular swimming classes for students (boys & girls), employees and their dependents had been started from 29th March 2022 in the morning and evening. At present, near about 500 registered members is learning swimming under the supervision of swimming experts.
INTERNAL COMPETITION

During this period we have conducted Sports General Championship – 2022 from 5th March to 12th March 2022. This year we witnessed the participation of 600 approx. students (boys) & 90 approx. students (girls) and 50 approx. staff (men & women) in the games like Cricket, Tennis, Boxing, Squash, Gym, Weight Lifting, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Athletics, Carom, Squash, Karate, Hockey were held in Lower Ground, Upper Ground, Sports Complex, Student Activity Centre (SAC), Squash Complex. The closing of the event finally was in the Lower Ground of the Campus on 13th March 2022 from 6:00 PM onwards.
In the closing ceremony prizes & trophies were awarded by Smt. Sulekha Singh, International Archer and National Gold Medalist Prof. Shalivahan, Hon’bleDy. Director IIT(ISM), Prof. M K Singh, Dean Students Welfare in presence of Prof. M. Rakesh Singh, President, SPEC, Dr. D N Acharya, Sports Officer and many distinguished faculty & guest.

In Cricket, an internal tournament named as IIT(ISM) Championship had been organised on every Saturday & Sunday where four team each from (1) B.Tech, (2) Combined team of M.Sc Tech, M.Tech& Sports Coaches (3) Research Scholar and (4) Staff competed in a league competition where best two teams qualified for two leg final where B. Tech. Team and Combined team of M.Sc Tech, M.Tech& Sports Coaches won one each.
Also organised friendly Matches with outside team in the game of Cricket and Volleyball throughout the period during the weekends.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, One day Badminton Championship was organised on 14, Nov 2021, where a total 30 participant in the event including Senior and Junior participated. Also Open Badminton Championship was organised between faculties, staff and students.

A Table Tennis Tournament was organised from 18 September 2021 to 21st September 2021.These event are included men's staff and dependants (mens singles), women's staff and dependants(women's singles)n children's above 10 years and Children's below 10 years.In Men's Staff and dependants total number of players was 16 and the winner of the tournament in this event was PashupatiNathand Runner up Kaushikbhowmik.In Women's staff and dependants total number of Strength was 6 and the winner of that event was Lizza Malik, and runner up of the event was Tina Singh.

In Karate game, a belt grading examination was also held on December 2021 for all trainees of ISM Karate club and according to the karate belt grading system many practitioners have been promoted for new rank. All the trainees who got promotion were to be honored with certificates and belts by organizing a ceremony on 15th January, but due to increasing cases of Corona, this program has been postponed for the time being.

In Badminton, an internal tournament named as IIT(ISM) Badminton Championship had been organised from 4-8 Dec. 2021 where four team each from (1) B.Tech, (2) M.Tech. (3) Research Scholar and (4) Staff team competed in the championship. Best two teams i.e. Research Scholar and Staff team reached to final, Staff team won the championship.

In Karate game, a belt grading examination was also held on December 2021 for all trainees of ISM Karate club and according to the karate belt grading system many practitioners have been promoted for new rank. All the trainees who got promotion were honored with certificates and belts in the closing ceremony.
