The Universal Tribometer provides versatility and modularity for various tribological and mechanical testing applications.
It can measure friction coefficients across lubricants, grease, bio-materials, automotive, semiconductor, aerospace,
materials, ceramics, etc. It supports rotary, reciprocating, block-on-ring, linear tribology, scratch tests, and indentation tests,
with an inline optical profilometer for quick measurements. Loads can be applied automatically.
Key Features of UT
- Temperature Range: Up to 400°C for rotary and reciprocating modules
- Upper Z Drive: Travel distance up to 150 mm, resolution 0.1 µm, travel speed 0.001–5 mm/s
- Rotary Setup (ball on disk, pin on disk, thrust washer testing, spiral motion wear): Normal load up to 3000 N, least count 0.1 N, disk speed 0.1–5000 rpm, with humidity control and inert gas purging chamber
- Reciprocating Drive (ball on flat, pin on plate): Frequency 0.1–60 Hz, stroke 1–25 mm
- Operating Condition: Both dry and lubricated; humidity control and inert gas purging chamber
- Linear XY Stage for Scratch Testing: X Stage speed 0.001–5 mm/s (max travel 150 mm, encoder resolution 0.2 µm), Y Stage speed 0.001–50 mm/s (max travel 250 mm, encoder resolution 0.2 µm)
- 2D Force Sensor with Load Range:
- (a) 0.1–200 N, resolution 5 mN
- (b) 10–1000 mN, resolution 150 µm
- (c) 0.5–50 mN, resolution 50 µm
